I consider myself to be a dog lifestyle expert (or Crazy Dog Person lifestyle expert?) – my husband Todd and I have 12 dogs, compete in dog sports, and are involved with dog sports at an organizational level (I’ve served on the board of directors for the North American Flyball Association and the Colorado Disc Dogs, and Todd is the captain of Team Hero aka Hero Disc USA).

Between us Todd and I have had over 30 dogs, including 6 service dog puppies that Todd raised for Canine Companions for Independence. I wrote a book about flyball (The Beginner’s Guide to Flyball) and Todd runs a business called Halftime Dogs that puts on frisbee dog halftime shows at major sporting events. Our dogs have done a lot of shows and commercials, and I also occasionally breed Golden Retrievers.

So we know dogs. But, at the same time, I’ve wondered how my peers are doing things. Maybe there’s a better way to keep things clean, or travel with/without dogs, or handle thunder phobia, or maybe people are using amazing products that I’ve never even heard of. What are other people doing????

That’s why I created Fine Dog Living. It has become the hive mind I was hoping for, for people who live with a lot of dogs and/or have a very active dog lifestyle (competing in sports, training, showing, breeding, performing, etc.).

Whether you have 1 dog or 20, you are welcome to join the conversation. Our ultimate goal is to live a more harmonious life with our dogs, and that’s easier to do when you have a brain trust of thousands of other dog people to draw from.
